Chrysler Corp. Forecasts Loss: The nation’s No. 3 car maker, struggling with a depressed auto market, said it expects to post a huge loss in the third quarter. The company said the loss will stem from the closure of a number of plants in the July-to-September period, including those producing its minivan and Jeep vehicles, because of model changeovers. Chrysler, in a brief statement, said it anticipates “a substantial loss for the third quarter.” The company said its profit for the quarter that just ended would be in line with analysts’ estimates of 78 cents per share.
