Boise Cascade Corp.: The timber company said second-quarter earnings plummeted 69.4% to $23 million because of higher logging costs and because it had to reduce prices on its products in the face of flagging demand. Sales at the Boise, Ida.-based firm were flat at $1.1 billion.
