Re Border Patrol discrimination:
A few years ago, my blue-eyed daughter with long blond hair, the perfect WASP stereotype, was stopped on Interstate 5 by the Border Patrol.
Probable cause?
She was driving a family hand-me-down, a not-so-young Comet, whose hood showed evidence of a past engine fire.
The experience inspired her to buy her own first new car.
Not everyone is lucky enough to have this option.
