Orange County’s Rep. Dannemeyer: Criticism and Applause
- Share via
Rep. Dannemeyer is quoted in The Times (July 11) as saying, “I’m a lawyer by profession. I’m not intimidated by the adversarial process. I never have been. I’ve made my living by litigation. I sleep nights.”
Dannemeyer has it wrong, as usual. It’s not his profession that permits him to sleep well. It’s his lack of conscience.
The voters of Dannemeyer’s district certainly have the right to elect a conservative representative. But did they really intend to send to Congress a political aborigine with half the heart and twice the mouth of most Americans?
