A man who was injured in a motorcycle accident in Thousand Oaks more than a week ago has died, authorities said.
Roger Arnold, 51, of Westlake Village died Thursday of traumatic chest injuries, said Dale Zentzis, a Ventura County coroner’s investigator.
Arnold was hit by a pickup truck driven by Santa Clarita resident James Grimme at the intersection of Lakeview Canyon Road and Via Merida on July 6, officials said.
Grimme was traveling south on Lakeview Canyon Road and attempting to turn left on Via Merida when he collided with Arnold, who was driving his motorcycle north through the intersection on Lakeview Canyon Road, said Sgt. Bruce Hansen of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
The impact of the collision threw Arnold 27 feet. He was taken by ambulance to Westlake Medical Center in Westlake Village, Zentzis said.
Arnold was transferred two days later to Los Robles Regional Medical Center, where he died, Zentzis said.
