Is “The Andrew Dice Clay Concert Movie” too hot to handle for 20th Century Fox?
The film was originally due out in late August as a follow-up to Fox’s just-out “The Adventures of Ford Fairlane.” Though wraparound sequences are now being written for the film, it’s disappeared from the release schedule. Well-placed studio insiders tell us that it’s unlikely to return.
The Dice concert in question was filmed over two nights, last March, before an SRO crowd at Madison Square Garden.
“It was a typical Andrew Dice Clay concert,” explains a Fox source, alluding to the comic’s notorious slaps at women, gays and Asians. “20th Century Fox will not release an X-rated picture, or an unrated picture.
“Knowing that, and knowing what a Dice concert is like, you can therefore draw your own conclusion.”
