Regarding the article May 21 about Irena Szewiola and Pat Joyce.
My hat is off, not my bonnet, to Szewiola and Joyce. I know, “we’ve come a long way, baby”, but not in the eyes of Los Angeles Unified School District. I would imagine that the promotions of women in education would establish higher standards for all the female students in our schools. But the district is saying, “Do as I say, not as I do.” We can produce as well as reproduce.
My hat is off to both of these unselfish and brave women. Maybe their pain will not be in vain.
