Music, food, entertainment, arts and crafts will be featured at the annual Mission San Luis Rey Fiesta ’90 this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The fiesta kicks off with a carnival and a dance at 7 p.m. Friday.
One of the highlights of this year’s fiesta will be the “Trek Ride of the Los Caballeros,” the traditional re-enactment of California history. The mounted Trek Riders--this year portrayed by the Camp Pendleton Marine Mounted Color Guard--will parade into the festivities at 2 p.m. Sunday.
The festival will also feature the Fiesta Queen and her Court, folklorico and Western dancers, the U.S. Marine Corps Band and Polynesian music. People are encouraged to bring their favorite pet for the Blessing of the Animals at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Fiesta attractions on Saturday include the Junior Miss and Mr. Oceanside Pageant, the Ocean Wavers Square Dance Club and the Latin Soul Band. On Sunday, a barbecue, more music and dancing will be featured.
