Grambling State football Coach Eddie Robinson, who will begin his 50th year in coaching this fall, has been named recipient of the first College Football Heritage Award.
Robinson will receive the award at halftime of the Disneyland Pigskin Classic between Colorado and Tennessee Aug. 26 at Anaheim Stadium.
Robinson has won 358 games in 49 seasons, more than any other coach in college football history.
Officials of the Orange County Sports Assn., which puts on the Pigskin Classic and the Freedom Bowl, said the award will be presented annually as part of the game’s festivities.
