LAUREL, Md. — Fighting Brass provided apprentice Mark Johnston, North America’s winningest jockey, with his 232nd victory of the year in the $19,000 Preeminent Purse at Laurel Race Course Tuesday.
Fighting Brass, the second choice in a field of seven sprinters, was timed in 1:17 4/5 for 6 1/2 furlongs and paid $7.20.
