Camarillo City Manager J. William Little, who is credited with overseeing the city’s recent financial recovery, is expected to renew his contract Wednesday for at least $102,000 per year for three years.
According to the contract, Little will receive the same percentage increase in salary each year as the city’s non-management staff. The annual raise, negotiated each year, is set at 6% for 1990.
Mayor Charlotte Craven, who was on the City Council when it hired Little in October, 1988, after the city discovered $25 million in investment losses, praised Little as the “very best city manager Camarillo has ever had.”
Little led the city out of near financial ruin, turning a $6-million deficit into a positive position this year, Craven said.
“He has faced and found solutions to problems that we as a City Council didn’t even know existed,” Craven said.
