From Times staff and Wire reports
About 60,000 people in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area were without electricity for hours after thunderstorms packing winds up to 70 m.p.h. knocked trees onto power lines. The pre-dawn flurry of wind, rain, thunder and lightning caused no injuries. The storms delayed the start of the day’s activities at the U.S. Olympic Festival in the Twin Cities. 1114993696
