A Del Cerro resident told police he shot an intruder after he returned to his home and found the man inside, police said Sunday.
The shooting occurred at 6:58 p.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of Hillgrove Drive, Sgt. Michael Gibbs said. The homeowner grabbed a gun and fired several shots at the intruder, who fled, leaving a trail of blood, Gibbs said.
The resident told police he thought several bullets struck the man.
