IBM, Motorola Discuss Chip Deal: IBM is discussing licensing the technology on its most advanced memory chip to Motorola Inc., the New York Times quoted sources as saying. Motorola wants to be less dependent on its partner Toshiba Corporation for semiconductor technology, the sources said. The talks, which neither IBM nor Motorola would confirm, are said to involve dynamic random access memory chips that store 4 million bits of information.
