JON VOYAGE: You won’t see Jon Bon Jovi’s name above the title when “Young Guns II” hits the theaters this August. But the rock idol does have a brief scene in the film, which stars Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips, Emilio Estevez (and many more). When Bon Jovi visited the set last year, he was cast in a cameo as a bad guy who gets killed during a prison break. “Don’t go for popcorn or you’ll miss it,” JBJ advises. . . . No wonder John Fogerty wishes he controlled the music-publishing rights to his old hits. Olympic Oil Stain is running a new TV ad for its product, orchestrated with a dreadful rewrite of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Who’ll Stop the Rain.” . . . The Art of Noise has called it quits after six years. . . . Megadeth is back in the studio, with a new guitarist (Marty Friedman) and drummer (Nick Menza), working on a new album, scheduled for August. Songs slated for inclusion include “Tornado of Souls,” “Hanger 18,” “Holy Wars” and “Lucretia.” Watch for the band to headline the Hollywood Palladium on Sept. 13. . . . And our Title of the Week goes to the Wonder Stuff’s new British video compilation, which is called “Eleven Appalling Videos.”
