It’s a Love-Hate Relationship

Mike Downey’s diatribe against the American soccer team after (it lost) by a very creditable 2-1 score to Austria was journalistic hooliganism at its worst. It wasn’t informative and it wasn’t entertaining. A slight atonement by The Times would be to red-card Mike Downey to get him off the streets of Italy and disqualify him from World Cup coverage in 1994.
