Chargers Sign 12th-round Pick

The Chargers have signed wide receiver Elliott Searcy, their 12th-round draft choice, to two one-year contracts, his agent said Monday.

Harold Lewis, a St. Louis-based agent, said Searcy signed late last week. Lewis declined to discuss financial details.

Searcy, 5-feet-7 and 173 pounds, caught 75 passes for 1,142 yards and eight touchdowns in a four-year career at Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. He was the last of 17 players drafted by the Chargers and the 326th of 331 players selected overall.
