ANAHEIM — An Anaheim man who police said may be responsible for as many as nine restaurant holdups in the past several weeks was arrested Monday on suspicion of robbery.
Henry Nelson Ayers, 68, was arrested shortly after a Marie Callender’s Restaurant in the 500 block of North Euclid Street was robbed at gunpoint of an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
There have been several restaurant robberies in Anaheim and Garden Grove by a man matching Ayers’ description, Anaheim Police Sgt. Jim George said.
“We believe (Ayers) is the suspect in all the robberies,” George said.
Ayers was taken to Anaheim’s temporary detention facility after his 3:37 p.m. arrest and is being held on $50,000 bail, George said.
