A 21-year-old Simi Valley man died Sunday when his car ran off the Simi Valley Freeway and rolled down a steep embankment, officials said.
Roy Zansloten was pronounced dead at the scene, the California Highway Patrol reported.
He was traveling west on the freeway, just east of Yosemite Avenue in Simi Valley about 2:45 a.m. His car ran off the road and rolled about five times before landing on its roof. Zansloten was wearing his seat belt, the CHP said.
The cause of the accident was unknown. An autopsy will be performed Monday to determine the cause of death, said Dale Zentzis, a deputy county coroner.
