Boy Crossing Street Hit by Car, Killed

LA HABRA — An 11-year-old boy was struck by a car and killed Wednesday, apparently after he tried to cross an intersection against a red light, police said.
Anthony Sheen of La Habra was attempting to cross the intersection of Whittier Boulevard and Idaho Street at about 7:50 p.m. when he was struck, police said.
The boy was taken to Friendly Hills Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Information on the driver of the vehicle was not immediately available.
