Glendora : Monthly Trash Rate Up 80
Beginning in July, Glendora residents will pay an additional 80 cents a month to have their garbage collected, and the rate will go up another 80 cents next year under increases approved by the City Council on Tuesday.
Residential rates will increase to $8.75 next month and to $9.55 the following July. Commercial rates, which vary depending on container size and frequency of pickup, will increase 10% in July, then another 9.14% on July 1, 1991.
Assistant City Manager Keene Wilson reported that the increases will help the collection company, City Refuse, keep up with inflation, and that they reflect the firm’s increased landfill dumping costs. He also said the new prices are in keeping with rates charged in neighboring cities.
