SHOOTING / U.S. CHAMPIONSHIPS : Edmondson, Lawton Take Honors

David Edmondson finished off a four-day sweep in the 10-meter competition Thursday in the U.S. International Shooting Championships in Chino.
Edmondson, of Colorado Springs, Colo., had maintained the lead during all four days of firing to win with a final score of 1,206. Troy Lawton of Ft. Benning, Ga., scored 1,197 to take second, with Erik Hatlestad of Colorado Springs, Colo., in third with 1,91.
Lawton won the 50-meter event with 1,157. Randy Stewart of Kirby, Ariz., and Edmondson placed second and third respectively, after a 100-point shootoff to break their tied score of 1,54.
