Dmitri Baltermants, 77, a Soviet photographer best known for his pictures of World War II battlefields. Among the most well known of Baltermants’ works was a 1942 photo of Soviet women grieving over the frozen bodies of soldiers in the Crimea. On June 11 in Moscow of kidney disease.
