The accident occurred at 6:45 a.m. at Sepulveda Boulevard and Saticoy Street.

The patrol car “went off the roadway, up over the curb and collided with a power pole,” Sgt. Larry Manion said. No other cars were involved.

Manion said the officers had been assigned a radio call but it was not clear if they were answering it at the time of the crash.

Carr, who was driving, is a training officer. Manion said both men were wearing seat belts when the crash occurred.
