San Luis Obispo High School rallied for two runs in the seventh inning to defeat Canyon, 4-3, Friday in a Southern Section 4-A baseball playoff game at San Luis Obispo.
It was the third consecutive time San Luis Obispo has rallied for two runs in the seventh to win, 4-3, in the playoffs.
Canyon (14-13-1) had scored a run in the second and two more in the fifth to take a 3-1 lead. San Luis Obispo added one in the sixth to cut the lead to 3-2.
Josh Simmons opened the seventh with a single for San Luis Obispo (19-5). A throwing error by Canyon pitcher Greg Tippen put runners on first and second.
Grant Munger’s RBI single tied the score, 3-3, and left runners on first and second. A passed ball moved the runners up and an intentional walk loaded the bases.
Charles Emery hit into a force play at home, but a wild throw to first allowed the winning run to score.
