In other 3-A quarterfinals:

Orange Glen 3, Southwest 0--Gina Phillips had a triple and two RBIs, Yvonne Duarte had two singles and a run, and Lara Campbell (16-8) pitched a two-hitter for Orange Glen (16-8). Melle Esquival struck out the first eight Orange Glen for Southwest (13-12).

Rancho Buena Vista 5, Granite Hills 4--Top-seeded Rancho Buena Vista (22-5) won and will take on Hilltop at Kit Carson Park in Thursday’s semifinals. Granite Hills finished 13-10.

Hilltop 7, Serra 1--Darlene Ortega went three for four with two RBIs and two runs, and Jackie Hill (18-4) was the winner for Hilltop (22-7). Serra finished 13-12.

2-A Quarterfinals

Madison 3, Carlsbad 0--Jenifer Booker pitched a two-hitter, striking out 10. She also hit a two-run homer. No. 1-seeded Madison improved to 26-3. Carlsbad finished at 12-12.

USDHS 6, Mission Bay 0--USDHS (18-6), seeded No. 4, plays Madison in the semifinals Thursday. Mission Bay finished 13-9.

Escondido 2, San Marcos 1--Unseeded Escondido (18-6) upset No. 1-seeded San Marcos, which finished 22-6.

Santana 4, Valhalla 0--Santana, seeded No. 2, will now face No. 6 Escondido in the semifinals. Santana improved to 27-2, and Valhalla finished at 9-17.
