A man who had been shot was taken to Mercy Hospital Tuesday, where he was declared brain dead, San Diego police reported.
The victim was discovered in the 6700 block of Charlene Avenue, after police were called at 6:53 p.m., said Sgt. Fred England. Gang involvement is being investigated, he added.
Authorities had not released the victim’s name late Tuesday, and their investigation was continuing.
