Police are investigating the deaths of an elderly couple found Tuesday morning in their bed at a Burbank retirement home.
Stanford Wirick, 86, and his wife of 53 years, Genevive, 83, were found at 7 a.m. at the Le Bleu Chateau retirement home in the 1900 block of Grismer Avenue, Burbank Police Sgt. Don Goldberg said.
Goldberg said there was “no evidence of foul play,” but “we are of the opinion that this possibly is a murder-suicide.”
Detectives found a bottle of prescription medication on a nightstand near the bed, but were uncertain if it played a role in the deaths, Goldberg said. Autopsies will be performed this week to determine causes of death.
Both people had a history of heart problems, and Stanford Wirick recently was treated for pneumonia, Goldberg said.
