Picasso Oil Makes Canadian Auction History: An unidentified but “well-known” French Canadian collector has paid the highest amount ever at a Canadian auction--$1.18 million--for a Picasso oil painting. The work, “Arles, Corrida en Dia de Sol (Arles, Bullfight on a Sunny Day),” was sold in less than three minutes. The 1960 oil painting shows an aerial view of a Mediterranean town with a bullfight ring in the center.
