For dedicated gardeners, here are suggestions from the California Assn. of Nurserymen on what to do in the garden this week:
* Deciduous flowering shrubs and trees can be pruned right after they finish blooming.
* Start feeding camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons an acid fertilizer when they stop blooming.
* Try morning glories, sweet peas, nasturtiums or black-eyed Susan vines to hide an unattractive fence, to provide shade or create privacy on your porch.
* Plant cucumbers, squash, beans, sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers and egg plants now.
