Actress Polly Bergen, perhaps best known to television audiences for her Emmy-nominated role as Rhoda in “War and Remembrance” and the sequel “The Winds of War,” has filed for divorce.
Bergen filed a Superior Court petition in Los Angeles today to end her eight-year marriage to New York entrepreneur Jeffrey Endervelt. The court documents cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
Bergen, 60, and Endervelt, 50, maintained homes on both coasts and had no children, said Marilyn Reiss, publicist for Bergen.
The actress was nominated for two Emmy Awards, one for “The Winds of War” and the other for “War and Remembrance.” Rhoda was the wife of naval officer Pug Henry in the miniseries.
Bergen is in Louisiana today, working on the CBS-TV pilot “Steel Magnolias,” based on the movie, Reiss said.
