Pasadena : Center Needs an Overhaul

The Pasadena Center could use a $4.9-million overhaul that would upgrade the convention complex, restore its exterior, expand the driveway, and repair the electrical, cooling and heating systems, according to a report presented to the the Board of Directors and the Pasadena Center Operating Co. on Tuesday.
The most urgent need is for $1.2 million in repairs to the electrical, elevator, and heating and cooling systems, according to a survey provided by Building System Evaluation Inc. of Arcadia. Needed immediately is $405,200 to repair an outdated electrical system, including $30,000 for unsafe emergency exit lighting.
The board will consider how to pay for the repairs Tuesday.
