CBS Shifts Technicians: CBS News President David Burke issued a memo to CBS News employees informing them about plans to “consolidate” engineers and technicians into a company-wide pool that would allow the news division to draw upon technical staff in the sports and entertainment divisions as well. Although CBS News will continue to administer all camera crews and news gathering operations, production facilities and operations in London, New York and Washington--representing hundreds of employees--will now report to CBS Inc. corporate staff.
