Dow, Jamison Named MVPs

The San Diego State basketball team held its awards banquet Thursday night and named two Most Valuable Players.
The co-MVPs were Marty Dow, a junior center, and Shawn Jamison, a junior forward.
Jamison led the team in points per game (16.8) and rebounds (6.9).
Dow was second in both categories (12.3 and 6.9 respectively).
Dow was also honored as most improved and Neal Steinly was honored as the team’s top scholar-athlete, although no grade-point average was announced.
MEN’S TENNIS
Loyola Marymount defeated Point Loma Nazarene, 8-1, in a nonconference match at Loyola. PLNC (6-11) got its lone victory from the No. 1 doubles team of Hans Hogestedt and Gary Rees, who defeated J.V. Regala and Tom Sampson.
