BARCELONA, Spain — Two people were killed in a brawl and 18 were injured in clashes between soccer fans and police today after top team Real Madrid’s surprise defeat in the Spanish Cup final, police said.
They said 18 people were injured here after Barcelona soccer fans celebrating their side’s unexpected 2-0 win Thursday night in Valencia battled with police. Eight people were detained.
Police in Palma de Majorca said a Real Madrid fan and his British girlfriend were arrested there today in connection with the death of two brothers in a brawl.
Police said the brothers, Jesus and Jose Antonio Lago Ramos, both in their 20s, were stabbed to death after an argument over the match.
