A 66-year-old man was killed Thursday, and three other motorists suffered minor injuries in a head-on collision in Ramona, a CHP spokesman said.
Norman Frances Lapine died at the scene on California 67, south of Etcheverry Street at 7:10 a.m., of head and chest injuries, said a coroner’s deputy.
Lapine was driving a car south on California 67 when he swerved into the northbound lane and struck a pickup truck driven by Adam Casto, 18, of Lakeside, the spokesman said.
Casto is in good condition at Sharp Memorial Hospital, said a hospital spokeswoman. Two passengers, Li Wen Gladu, 14, and her brother, Donald Gladu, 18, both of Ramona, were also injured.
Li Wen Gladu is in fair condition at Children’s Hospital, and Donald Gladu was treated at Sharp Memorial Hospital and released.
