The Cal State Northridge men’s volleyball team will make its second attempt to clinch its first Western Intercollegiate Volleyball Assn. postseason tournament berth when the Matadors play host to No. 5 Hawaii at 7:30 tonight at CSUN.
The Matadors (11-8 overall, 6-6 in the DeGroot Division) failed to clinch a berth Friday night when they were surprised by lowly UC Irvine (7-11, 2-11) in five games.
Last week, Hawaii pulled off a four-game upset of top-ranked USC, which knocked off sixth-ranked CSUN the previous night.
Fifth-ranked Hawaii is 14-7 overall and 9-3 and in fourth place in WIVA’s Wilson Division.
