SEATTLE — Guard Dale Ellis has been fined for missing the Seattle SuperSonics’ team flight to Oakland for Sunday’s game against the Golden State Warriors, Sonics Coach Bernie Bickerstaff said.
Bickerstaff, who met with Ellis on Sunday, would not disclose the amount of the fine.
Ellis caught a later flight to the Bay Area on Saturday. He turned in his best performance since returning to the roster March 10, hitting 11 of 16 field goal tries and four of six three-point attempts to score 30 points in the Sonics’ 121-116 victory over Golden State.
Ellis missed 27 games because of three fractured ribs he suffered in an auto accident Jan. 12.
