SANTA ANA — Alternative Repertory Theatre will stage Peter Nichols’ “A Day in the Death of Joe Egg” from April 27 to June 2.
The 1967 black comedy about a British couple trying to cope with a severely handicapped child replaces Lorna Hill’s “Yalla Bitch,” which was dropped because of casting difficulties.
Patricia L. Terry, artistic director of the storefront troupe, said Friday that rights to the play, which had been restricted, were granted this week by Nichols’ agent.
