Charter Medical Discovers Errors: Charter Medical Corp. said it discovered accounting errors that reduced its operating income by about $28 million and that will increase its net loss for the quarter ending March 31 by about $13 million. News of the discrepancies caused the Macon, Ga.-based company’s junk bonds to fall 15 points. Charter operates about 97 hospitals, including Charter Bay Wood in Long Beach.
