Los Angeles police are investigating today what they believe is a murder-suicide in which a Tarzana man allegedly shot his wife in the head and then turned the gun on himself while their daughter and another child played video games in a bedroom.
Gabor Kernyansky, 35, a free-lance makeup artist, was pronounced dead shortly after the shooting, which occurred at 9 p.m. Wednesday in an apartment in a building in the 5500 block of Lindley Avenue. His wife, Elizabeth Kernyansky, 35, died a short time later at Northridge Medical center, Police Lt. Bill Gaida said.
Police said the couple were visiting a friend’s apartment when they began arguing. The couple told their 8-year-old daughter and their friend’s 10-year-old son to go play with video games during the argument. The children and witnesses told police that they heard two shots.
