SAN FRANCISCO — Former San Francisco Giants catcher Bob Brenly is moving from behind the plate to behind a microphone, trading in the “tools of ignorance” for a three-year deal as a radio voice for the Chicago Cubs, the San Francisco Examiner reported today.
Brenly, 35, will begin his new career with WGN during spring training and will team with play-by-play announcer Tom Brennaman and former Cub Ron Santos.
