Judge Drops Unocal Suit Against Mesa Petroleum: Judge John Davies of U.S. District Court in Los Angeles ruled in favor of Mesa Limited Partnership in dismissing a lawsuit brought by Unocal Corp. stemming from Mesa’s unsuccessful attempt to take over Unocal in 1985. Unocal had sought profits resulting from Mesa’s disposal of 6.7 million shares of Unocal stock. (Filed June 3, 1986. Case No. CV86-3564 JGD)
