EL TORO — A man armed with what witnesses said appeared to be a Molotov cocktail robbed a savings and loan Tuesday, authorities said.
The robbery occurred about 11 a.m. when a man entered World Savings & Loan Assn. at 22379 El Toro Road, said that he had a bomb and demanded money, FBI spokesman Jim Neilson said.
A teller, who said the object he was carrying looked like a Molotov cocktail, or firebomb, handed the robber some money. The man put an undisclosed amount of cash in a zipper bag and fled, Neilson said.
The robber was described as being Latino, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds, with dark hair. He was wearing a dark sweat shirt, jeans and a white baseball cap, Neilson said.
