San Onofre
An unidentified man, believed to be an undocumented immigrant, was struck by several vehicles and killed Friday night at 8:10 as he tried to cross Interstate 5 near the San Onofre border checkpoint, officials said.
The man, in his late twenties or early thirties, was the last in a group to have crossed the highway heading east, said San Diego Deputy Coroner Cal Vine. He was struck by several vehicles and all the drivers involved in the incident stopped; none have been charged, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The victim was 5-foot tall, weighed 100 pounds and had black hair, brown eyes and a neatly trimmed mustache.
None of the other pedestrians in his group stopped, Vine said.
