CANYON BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT : Martinez Paces Newport Harbor Past Los Amigos

Eddie Martinez had 18 points to lead Newport Harbor High School to an 88-46 victory over Los Amigos Wednesday in a first-round game of the Canyon basketball tournament.

Craig DeBusk had 17 points and Paig Parrish had 14 assists for Newport Harbor.

In another first-round game:

Cerritos 66, Canyon 52--Scott Day scored 23 points and Mark Flick had 18 for Cerritos (9-1). Kevin Wilborn scored 21 for Canyon (4-6).
