San Juan Capistrano Again Is Hottest City

Once again, Orange County on Monday claimed the highest temperature in the continental United States.
And once again, that temperature was recorded at San Juan Capistrano--84 degrees. The city claimed the same honor, with a temperature of 82, on Friday.
Monday’s warm, dry weather topped off a beautiful Southern California Christmas weekend, with temperatures that broke records throughout the area, while most other parts of the country suffered with extreme cold. Example: Milo, Me., which recorded 22 below Monday, the lowest temperature any place in the contiguous 48 states.
