DIVISION IV : Ramona Tied, 28-28, on Rally by Glendora
Glendora came back from a 28-7 deficit to tie Ramona, 28-28, in the Southern Section Division IV title game Saturday night at Citrus College.
Glendora opened the scoring a 46-yard pass play from J.J. O’Laughlin to Bill Zernickow in the first quarter. But Ramona’s Troy Thomas--who had 171 yards rushing for the game--countered with first-half touchdown runs of 62, two and nine yards.
Ramona (9-3-1) increased its lead to 28-7 on Marc Johnson’s 51-yard run in the third quarter.
But Glendora came back to tie the score on a 14-yard touchdown run by Zernickow, O’Laughlin’s 19-yard scoring pass to Phil McGee and a one-yard run by O’Laughlin with 7:51 remaining.
O’Laughlin completed 10 of 22 passes for 200 yards for Glendora (13-1).
