Culver City : Newsletter Contract OKd
The City Council on Monday awarded a $15,500 contract to a Downey-based consultant to help produce the city’s first annual report and newsletter for businesses and residents.
Garcia & Associates, a new firm started by a former Downey city communications specialist, was among five companies to bid for the contract to help the city with the writing, layout and production of the reports and newsletters that will be mailed next spring to 20,000 businesses and households.
Two other firms submitted lower bids, but Garcia & Associates was the lowest bidder with the necessary experience in newsletter production and municipal government, said Bob Norquist, the city’s budget and finance officer. The council voted 4 to 0 to approve the contract, with Councilman Richard Alexander absent.
