Leykis and Dr. Ruth

Re the Oct. 28 article, “Leykis Leads Counterattack Against FCC Fines,” about the involvement of KFI-AM’s obnoxious Tom Leykis in an indecent-broadcasting case:
The Federal Communications Commission is entering the battle too late. It should have thrown the first bomb when “Dr. Ruth,” the sex guru, came on the TV scene.
I wrote the FCC when that dreadful small woman was first heard, and in reply I received reams of rules and apologies, and, at the end, the phrase: “We can’t do anything about it.”
We have guns galore, murders and our choice of dope almost everywhere. Perhaps our country has simply surrendered, physically and morally. If we are forced to give people such as Leykis and Dr. Ruth the forums they need--and if the press feels obligated to give us rotten news ad infinitum--then the admonition “just turn the dial” may not suffice. Turn it to where ?
